De Andere Quiz runs charity pub quizzes for hundreds of bars and restaurants across the Netherlands. During the COVID lockdowns the platform raised nearly €800,000for venues that couldn't open. They needed a quiz system that could handle thousands of concurrent participants — with one specific requirement most quiz plugins can't do: fuzzy answer matching.
When someone types "swarzner" instead of "Schwarzenegger", they should still score. We built a custom partial-match scoring engine for QSM with wildcard patterns, multi-answer support, and grading logic hidden from players. As the platform grew, we built a standalone management portal, automatic result routing for presenters, and a custom Bingo plugin from scratch.
